Cal/EPA Education and the Environment Initiative
California is currently poised to lead the nation in increasing environmental literacy through the Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI). EEI brings an environment-based, State Board of Education approved curriculum to potentially millions of students in California. Students will understand their relationship with the environment and how it influences them as a result of the EEI.

California Building Standards Commission
Governor Schwarzenegger made the greening of California a priority during his administration. Under his direction, the California Building Standards Commission acted with other state agencies and industry stakeholders to develop a code that would reduce the impact buildings have on the environment. CALGreen, the 2010 California Green Building Standards Code, is the first-in-the-nation mandatory green building policy and goes into effect January 1, 2011.
